Klanderman DATE: April 14, 2004 COPIES TO:County Clerk News Media /Notice Board Committee Members X St. Croix County Traffic Safety Commission meeting was held April 21, 2004 at the Sheriff's Department in Hudson at 1:OOPM. Present were: Miles Wittig, Buzz Marzolf, Brian Erickson, Jim Harer, Greg Helgeson, Dennis Johnson, Jack Colvard, Charles Grant, Bruce Jacoby, Pam Dabruzzi and Bob Klanderman. Meeting was called to order by Chairman Klanderman. Motion to adopt the agenda made, seconded and approved. Motion to accept minutes of January 21, 2004 was made and approved. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Mr. Wittig asked Mr. Helgeson about the signage by his residence. NEW BUSINESS Mr. Helgeson stated he got a call reference a complaint about intersection of Hwy 128 /Hwy 12. There is not a big accident history there. Request was for 4 -way stop. Discussion was held. Mr. Helgeson stated he will monitor the situation. Chairman Klanderman mentioned that we were informed that the PGA is having a tournament at Troy Burne July 5th - ll Discussion held reference Carmichael Rd and UU. Letter is to be sent to Hudson Administration reference the Carmichael Rd and UU intersection. Discussion held reference E. Cove Rd and CTH F. Referred to the County Highway Department. ANNOUNCEMENTS Mr. Johnson stated there have been 196 fatalities in 2004 so far. In 2003 at this time there were 228 in the state. Mr. Johnson stated WI will be having a buckle up campaign (grant) from Memorial Day through June. Mr. Johnson stated St. Croix County was awarded alcohol, speed and buckle up grants. Mr. Johnson reviewed some new legislative bills that went into law. Mr. Johnson introduced Mr. Jacoby from 3M. Mr. Jacoby discussed products available to make signing and road markins easier to see. Mr. Jacoby invited the committee to come to 3M to see products they have developed. ADJOURNMENT Meeting was adjourned at 2:34PM. Respectfully submitted, Pam Dabruzzi
