b RESOLUTION TO HIRE TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE t VETERANS SERVICES OFFICE Resolution No. d 1t St. Croix County, Wisconsin WHEREAS, on October 5, 2010, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution requiring any position in which a vacancy occurs to be reviewed by the parent committee, the Administration Committee and the County Board prior to refilling; and WHEREAS, an employee in the Veterans Service Office is taking a leave of absence; and WHEREAS, the Administration Committee deems this situation to be covered by the vacant position review policy; and WHEREAS, the Administration Committee is the parent committee for the Veterans Service Office; and WHEREAS, the Administration Committee has reviewed the situation and determined that coverage is necessary during the employee's leave of absence and that coverage can be achieved by hiring a temporary employee for up to six weeks or no more than $3000 in wages; and WHEREAS, the County Board has reviewed the situation and agrees with the conclusion of the Administration Committee that a temporary employee should be hired during the employee's leave of absence for up to 6 weeks or no more than $3000 in wages. THEREFORE, be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that a temporary employee may be hired, for up to 6 weeks or no more than $3000 in wages, to provide coverage during the employee's leave of absence Veterans Service Office. What has been the recent annual and monthly trend of work performed by the position? The trend for claims, medical applications, property tax credit applications, aid to needy veterans grants have increased 2 fold over the past year. 2. Who fills in for the position during absences for PTO? PTOs don't extend beyond 1 week so we try to share the work for the short period and catch up after return. 3. What will be the impact to the public of a delay in filling the position? We will need to cover this position for a period of 8 weeks to provide services to the public. A person familiar with county policies would be of the utmost value for this period. Less training required. 4. How much is the net savings for each month the position is unfilled? We request $4000 for salary for a. months.
