WHEREAS, on October 5, 2010, the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution
requiring any position in which a vacancy occurs to be reviewed by the parent committee, the
Administration Committee and the County Board prior to refilling; and
WHEREAS, the Council on Aging & Disabilities is the parent committee for a part-time Nutrition
Program Cook Aide position in the Health and Human Services Department (Aging & Disability
Resource Center); and
WHEREAS, a vacancy has occurred in this position; and
WHEREAS, the Council on Aging & Disabilities has reviewed the position and determined the position
is necessary and there are no viable alternatives to refilling the position, and therefore recommends that
the vacant position be refilled; and
WHEREAS, the Administration Committee has reviewed the position and agrees with the conclusion of
the Council on Aging & Disabilities and recommends the position be refilled; and
WHEREAS, the County Board has reviewed the position and agrees with the conclusions of the Council
on Aging & Disabilities and the Administration Committee that the position should be refilled.
THEREFORE, be it resolved by the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors that the part-time Nutrition
Program Cook Aide position in the Health and Human Services Department (ADRC) be refilled.

Position Request Nutrition Program Cook Aide - Deer Park Nutrition Site
1) What has been the recent annual & monthly trend o work performed by the
position?
The Nutrition Program Cook Aide assists with meal preparation and packing of
meals to be delivered to the Deer Park, New Richmond and Somerset Senior
Centers. The NPCA assists with serving of meals and cleaning of the kitchen
and dining area.
2) Who fills in for the position during abse for PTO?
The Nutrition Program Manager assists, but takes away from his /her job
duties. Currently the position is being filled by a retired employee, who
agreed to fill in short term.
3 What will be the impact to the public of delay in filling the position?
Deer Park is one of the three cooking kitchens for the ADRC Nutrition
Program. Deer Park prepares meals for congregate dinners and home - delivered
meal participants at Deer Park, New Richmond, and Somerset. In the month of
January, over 1,000 meals were prepared at the Deer Park kitchen. Delay in
filling the position will potentially cause meals not to be prepared in a
timely manner and closure of a senior center. This will in turn effect the
older adults in their communities.
4 How much is the net savings for each month the pos ition is unfilled?
This is non - benefited position at $12.33/hr for 18 hours a week. The monthly
savings would be under $1,000.
