A LAKE MANAGEMENT PROTECTION GRANT
TO REVISE THE COUNTY'S SHORELAND ZONING ORDINANCE

St. Croix County, Wisconsin
WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statutes § 59.692 requires counties to adopt shoreland zoning ordinances
for all shorelands of navigable waters in unincorporated areas; and
WHEREAS, Wisconsin Administrative Code NR 115, Wisconsin's Shoreland Protection Program,
establishes the statewide minimum provisions for shoreland zoning and was substantially revised effective
February 1, 2010; and
WHEREAS, counties have until February 1, 2012 to incorporate the new standards of Wisconsin
Administrative Code NR 115 into the county's Shoreland Zoning Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 17.25 —17.35 Shoreland Overlay Zoning District of the St. Croix County Code
must be updated by February 1, 2012 to incorporate the new standards of Wisconsin Administrative Code
NR 115; and
WHEREAS, St. Croix County is qualified to carry out the responsibilities of this ordinance
development project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that St. Croix County requests the funds and assistance
available from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources under the Lake Management Protection
Grant Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Planning and Zoning Director is authorized to act on behalf
of St. Croix County to submit an application to the State of Wisconsin for financial aid for lake protection
purposes, sign documents and take necessary action to undertake, direct and complete an approved
protection project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that St. Croix County will comply with state rules for the program
and will meet the financial obligations under the grant.
