Surveyor: There was some discussion on old business pertaining to the Surveyor status.
Whiting feels everything is moving closer to a common point between PZP and Highway.
It was pointed out that St. Croix County is unique in that the Surveyor position is under
the jurisdiction of the Highway Department. Most Counties in Wisconsin have the
Surveyor as a separate department.
Legislative Issues: It was mentioned that Governor Doyle would be in Hudson,
Wednesday, September 3, 2003 to sign Senate Bill 4, changing Methamphetamine crimes
to felony charges versus misdemeanor charges.
It was mentioned that approximately 77% of the population of Wisconsin favors the tax
freeze.
County Board Goals: Reports presented at the August County Board session were very
informative. The next time reports will be given will be at the December Board session.
Meeting adjourned at 10:15 A.M.
