HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2023 (15) Resolution No. 15 (2023) RESOLUTION AMENDING BUDGET TO UTILIZE FUND BALANCE IN 2023 AND 2024 TO FUND PUBLIC SAFETY POSITIONS WITHIN THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE COVER MEMO TO: County Board of Supervisors FROM: Ken Witt, County Administrator DATE: May 2, 2023 AGENDA ITEM: Resolution Amending Budget to Utilize Fund Balance in 2023 and 2024 to Fund Public Safety Positions within the Sheriff's Office ______________________________________________________________________________ BACKGROUND INFORMATION At the Committee of the Whole, Supervisor Sherley requested to fund public safety positions within the Sheriff's Office with fund balance monies. This resolution amends the 2023 budget to immediately fund four Sheriff's Patrol Deputies. The 2023 fiscal impact is $484,518 for six months, which includes initial outfitting costs. 2024 fiscal impact would be $529,036 for just wages and benefits. Total fund balance used over the next year and a half would be just over one million dollars at $1,013,554.
