AG EXTENSION /RESOURCE AND EDUCATION COMMITTEE
SEPTEMBER 9, 2003
Present: Leon Berenschot, Ronald Raymond, Art Jensen, Chris Bethke, Lois Burri, Kimberly Reaman
Absent: Dave Fodroczi, Lee Milligan, James Janke, Jon Behling, Jennifer Havens, and Mary Lestrud
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Chris Bethke at 8:3o a.m.
Leon Berenschot moved that the agenda be adopted as presented. Art Jensen seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Date of next meeting was set for Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at 12:30 p.m.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT
County Budget -- A special meeting was called to review the 2004 budget. Reaman underestimated the increase in
fringe benefits and misunderstood part of the new budgeting software program. The revised 2004 budget was
reviewed by the committee. Motion by Raymond to approve the proposed budget as presented, subject to any
necessary revisions to further accommodate official personnel cost. Seconded by Jensen. Motion passed.
Leon Berenschot moved to adjourn. Lois Burri seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Mary gave the committee members a brochure on turkey, which is currently being used to
educate low- income families about proper preparation, safety, etc. As coordinator of the nutrition
program, Mary is in charge of hiring, supervision, and training of the educators in St. Croix and
Polk Counties. Polk County is currently posting for a new educator.
Ronald Raymond moved to adjourn. Art Jensen seconded the motion. Motion carried.
