Chairman Mehls called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. AGENDA: Adopted on a JACOBSON / MORTENSEN MOTION. NEW BUSINESS: Mehls led a lengthy discussion regarding the Backup Communication Center in Baldwin. Initially it was planned that when the existing radio consoles were replaced at the primary communication center, the old consoles would be placed at the Backup Center in Baldwin. Since replacement of the existing consoles was not included in the 2004 budget, it was suggested that a less expensive interim option be explored. Mehls proposed that two 12- channel desktop radio consoles be purchased and installed at the Baldwin Backup Center until such time as the existing consoles could be replaced. The cost would be $35,000 and would be paid for by $6,000 from 2003 COP and $29,000 from anticipated 2004 Fine Violation Revenue and would not increase the proposed budget or increase the levy. Motion to add this from the County Board Floor at the County Board Budget Meeting passed on a GRANT /GUNDERSON MOTION. Adiournment• Meeting adjourned at 8:45 a.m. on a MORTENSEN /BERNARD MOTION. Respectfully submitted, Chuck Mehls
