CALL TO ORDER Vice Chair Irene Burch, called the meeting to order at 8:3o a.m.
ROLL CALL Members present were: Ralph Bader, Gerald Peterson, Irene Burch, Bette Norman, Dr. Glenn Hoberg,
Carolyn Weisenburger, and Jeanette O'Connell. Also present were: Sandy Gehrmann, Tracy Davis, Renea
Aeschliman, Gladys Ellefson, Diana Fern, Sylvia Heller, Cindy Ahrens, Janice Thompson, Shirley Marlette, Dan
Hansen, Lorraine Jacobs, and Donna Lamson. Excused Richard (Buzz) Marzolf, Richard Peterson, Alice Mullan,
Marguerite Sumner and Loretta Cassellius.
OPTION OF AGENDA A motion was made by Carolyn Weisenburger and seconded by Jeanette O'Connell to
adopt the agenda as printed; motion carried.
DATE OF NEXT MEETING The next meeting will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2003.
ACTION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES A motion was made by Gerald Peterson and seconded by Ralph Bader to
approve the minutes as printed; motion carried.

9:45 — Public Hearing DOT 85.21 Transportation Grant

Conference Reports Sue Kramer, Shirley Grinley, and Sandy attended an Alzheimer's Conference in Eau Claire
on November 7a'. Sue attended a workshop on information about Power of Attorney forms for Health Care and
Finance. She explained the importance of filling out the forms.
Sandy and Shirley attended a workshop on time slips and became certified as presenters. Time slips is an activity
used mainly with those that have dementia or Alzheimer's disease, but can be used at the nutrition sites with Sandy or
Shirley presenting.
Public Benefits Report: Sue Kramer, Benefit Specialist, spoke to the Council in regards to the Food Stamp
program in St. Croix County. Sue stated that the program should be looked at as a Nutrition Assistance Program not
a welfare program. Handouts were given to the council members in regarding the Wisconsin Food Security Project
with a focus on the number of individuals enrolled in the program.
STAFF REPORTS
Sandy's Report: Sandy and Tracy have been working on a County emergency plan called COOP /COG. The plan
outlines the hierarchy of the office and what would happen in case of a disaster that would wipe out the government
center.
A letter of intent to hold a Caregiver Conference in March was written to AgeAdvantAge and the funding has been
granted. The conference is set for Tuesday, March 23rd at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on County Road UU. There
will be a keynote speaker from the Mayo Clinic, a video followed by a panel discussion and a boxed lunch with round
table discussion.
Senior Celebration as been slated for Wednesday, May 26th at the Phipp's Center for the Arts.
Secret Santa is taking place again this year and the gift bags will be handed out at the next Council meeting.
Individuals that qualify for the program are low income with little to no family in the area.
Tracds Report: Vehicle inspections were held on Friday, November 14th. Two of the vans had items that needed to
be fixed before being put back on the road — one was being fixed and was awaiting reinspection.
Sign up sheets for Rock the Halls with Buddy and Holly were given out at Center Board meetings and are due to
the office by Wednesday, November 26
SITE/CENTER REPORTS
BALDWIN Foot Care and Blood Pressure are being held every week. Bingo is going well. Thanksgiving Dinner
was really good with 92 individuals in attendance and John Mikla entertained the guests. There was a card party on
Wed., Nov. 19th with many in attendance. They are looking forward to Ole & Lena jokes in December and the
Christmas Parry yet to be planned.

DEER PARK 7 participants traveled to Albertville and had a good time. The Halloween party in October had only
one in costume, but fun was had by all anyway. Celebrated Veteran's Day on November 11th with a special luncheon
with the Legionnaires. A long time participant passed away recently and had asked that Carolyn Weisenburger and
Janice be pallbearers. The Center is selling Santa pins for a fundraiser at $3.00 each. 103 meals were prepared
between the three sites that Deer Park caters for the Thanksgiving dinner.
GLENWOOD CITY: Martha Mabis visited this month and presented information on how to make your
Thanksgiving leftovers into stuffing. Bingo and Cards are going well. Appreciation dinner for volunteers and the
areas businesses was attended by 50 people. The steam table is being fixed and will be ready for use soon. Planning
an evening Christmas Party.
HAMMOND /ROBERTS Bakeless bake sale is complete and $1o9.00 was raised for the center. Several
participants dressed up in costumes for the Halloween Party. A Christmas Party is planned for Thursday, December
18th for 1:oo p.m. Many participants are planning on attending the performance of Rock the Halls with Buddy &
Holly at the Old Gem Theatre in New Richmond.
HUDSON Planning to go to Target for the senior shopping day on November 2 1d . Monthly birthday party is
planned for Friday, December 19th. Home delivered meal program and DayAway meal delivery is going well and
growing. Massage is taking place twice a month. Many participants are planning on attending the performance of
Rock the Halls with Buddy & Holly at the Old Gem Theatre in New Richmond. They are decorating for Christmas and
will be planning a Christmas party.
NEW RICHMOND Small group went to the New Richmond High School dress rehearsal of their play. The Lefsa
clinic went over well raising $535.00 for the Center. Beatrice Sorum volunteered many hours to make the clinic a
success. Many participants are planning to attend the performance at the Gem Theatre. Planning a Christmas Cookie
Kitchen on December 15th & 1771h, where individuals can make and decorate cookies for themselves or for others who
may not otherwise receive them. Planning a Christmas Party on Thursday, December 18th
RIVER FALLS: The nutrition manager, Eunice, retired in early November. Foot Clinic had 25 individuals attend
last Wednesday. Christmas Party is planned for Monday, December 1 1 t at the West Wind Supper Club with a cost of
$7.00 a person. Euchre is played every Wednesday and Bridge is every Friday. A taxi fund has been set up for those
who cannot afford transportation to and from the nutrition site.
SOMERSET The Halloween costume party had only the female participants dress up. All 29 participants enjoyed
the Thanksgiving Dinner that was prepared by the Deer Park cooks. Martha Mabis visited on Wednesday
demonstrating how to make leftover into stuffing. A group outing has been planned for Friday, December 5th to the
Trap Rock Inn in Dresser. Planned events in December — raffle of a wagon and a gift exchange.
WOODVILLE Cards and bingo are going well. Planning a Christmas Party for Wednesday, December 1 ;A. 177
meals were prepared by the Woodville cooks for Thanksgiving Dinner for both Baldwin and Woodville Dining Sites.
VAN TRIPS:
Dec. 5 — Somerset to Dresser
A motion to approve the van trips was made by Ralph Bader and seconded by Dr. Glen Hoberg; motion carried.
