CROIX COUNTY LAND & WATER CONSERVATION DEPARTMENT Hammond Town Hall Wednesday, August 13, 2003 7:00 p.m. Call to Order: Vice Chairman, Ron Raymond called the meeting order at 7:00 p.m. Roll Call: Members present were Ron Raymond, Leon Berenschot, Chris Bethke, Jim Cody, and Lois Burri. Art Jensen was excused. Also present were Robert Heise and Jonna Fedie. Date of Next Meeting: The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2003. Unfinished Business: N/A New Business: Public Hearing: St. Croix County Natural Resource Management Plan Vice Chairman, Ron Raymond opened the Public Hearing at 7:01 p.m. Robert Heise read the Public Hearing notice that was published in the County newspaper as follows: The St. Croix County Land and Water Conservation Committee will hold a public hearing to accept comments and questions regarding the St. Croix County Natural Resource Management Plan. The public hearing will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at the Hammond Town Hall, 1816 Cty. Rd. E., Hammond, WI 54015. The purpose of the plan is to guide the Land and Water Conservation Department in its efforts to conserve and protect natural resources, while supporting sustainable economic and recreational use of these resources. The plan will also provide the basis for seeking funding from various private, local, state, and federal sources. Copies of the draft plan are available from the St. Croix County Land and Water Conservation Department located in the St. Croix County Agricultural Center, 1960 8 th Avenue in Baldwin and also located on our County Web Site at www.co. saint - croix .wi.us /Dgpartment/LandWater. The department office hours are 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. All interested persons are invited to present comments at the hearing. The Land and Water Conservation Department will accept written comments until Friday, September 12, 2003. Vice Chairman, Ron Raymond called for public comments three times from the floor. Comments were closed. It was noted that County Conservationist, Robert Heise will add to promote and encourage rotational grazing to goal #4. It is noted that comments will be invited from the public until Friday, September 12, 2003. A motion was made by Leon Berenschot and seconded by Chris Bethke to close Public Hearing at 7:05 p.m.; motion carried. A motion was made by Jim Cody and seconded by Chris Bethke to adjourn the meeting at 7:06 p.m.; motion carried.
