Jensen explained the hearing process and opened the hearing. Robert Pike: Fisher read the notice into the record. The request is to rezone approximately 4 acres of land from Agriculture to Ag/Residential and approximately 53 +/- acres of land from Agriculture to Ag -II. Location: A parcel of land located in the NE %4 of the SW I /4, Section 28, T31N -R17W, Town of Stanton. Robert Pike, 1642 Highway 64, New Richmond, WI is the owner of the property. Pike explained that he wants to keep the 3.99 acres with the existing home, and sell the Ag -II property to other interested parties. He explained that approximately 28 acres of the parcel is tillable, and in CRP, and the remainder is wooded. The DNR has constructed two ponds on the property and has planted prairie grasses, making this land a refuge for wildlife. Pike added that anyone buying this property would have to sign off on the programs that the land is currently in. Pike has received a letter from the Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation stating that they do not object to the proposal for one new access from State Highway 64 to the site further to the east, with the condition that the existing driveway be removed. Bart Greaton, 175 Greaton Road, New Richmond, had some questions on the intended use of the property if rezoned. Fisher explained that the 3.99 acres would remain with the original buildings, and the rest of the property, if rezoned to Ag -II, would only allow two additional sites. The Town of Stanton only allows one division of property every five years. Greaton has no objection to this request. Ross Fellinger, 1638 Highway 64, New Richmond, objects to the rezoning, as he does not want anymore homes in the area. Fisher went over the staff report with the committee. The county is working with the Town of Stanton on codifying their various inconsistent sets of rezoning criteria into one uniform set. Fisher said that this should be completed in the very near future. He asked that the committee consider tabling the request until the final list of criteria is in place. Discussion held. Pike is concerned with waiting until the Town of Stanton criteria is set, as he may lose another buyer for the property. Motion by Luckey, seconded by Jensen and carried to recess the hearing. Discussion held. Motion by Luckey, seconded by Zoerb and carried to table the rezoning request until the Town of Stanton resolves their issues for rezoning criteria. Pike will be notified when this is placed on a future agenda. Minutes: Motion by Zoerb, seconded by Anderson and carried to approve the November 26, 2002 minutes with changes noted. Motion by Zoerb, seconded by Jensen and carried to approve the December 11, 2002 minutes with changes noted.
