September 24, 1985
9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Meeting called to order by Chairman Stephens at 9:00 a.m. in Room B 4,
Courthouse, Hudson. All members present.
Minutes of the August hearings approved as written.
Chairman Stephens read letter from Somerset Township requesting reconsid-
eration of the Board of Adjustments decision of the Steven Montbriand
hearing.
Chairman Stephens informed those present that he is directing the Zoning
Administrator that the Board of Adjustments decision will be held in abeyance
until Mr. Montbriand applies for a Tubing License from the township, after
which the township shall inform him that if he plans on putting in a camp-
ground the property will have to be rezoned to Recreational Residential
District.
Hearings called to order by Chairman Stephens at 9:15 a.m.
Chairman Stephens set the guidelines for the hearings.
Zoning Administrator read notice of the hearings as printed in the county
and local newspapers. "

APPELLANT: Leonard L. Triebold
LOCATION: SW4 of the SE'k of Section 29, T29N-R18W,
Town of Warren
Chairman Stephens stated that the D.N.R. request is old business.
1. Ms. Cynthia Swanberg presented the request for D.N.R. for a water fatal
production area, with experimental area for cattle and water fowl. She
explained the reasons for the request.
Questions were asked by members of the Board.
Mr. Robert Peterfuss spoke in favor of the project.
Mr. David Schader presented a petition by persons in favor of the project.
Chairman Stephens read letters into the record in favor of the project.
2. Mrs. Marion Sinclear presented the request of George Sinclear to rip -
rap approximately 200 feet of the shoreline along the Apple River to pre-
vent further bank erosion.
3. Mr. Mylan Erickson presented his request to reconstruct his cabin on
Squaw Lake that was destroyed by fire. The structure will be placed on the
present foundation.
4. Mr. Leonard Triebold presented his request to construct a driveway that
would be less than 300 feet from the water. Mr. Leonard Triebold, Sr. has
no objections.
Motion by Supervisor Kelly to recess the hearings to inspect the properties
in question.

After inspection of the properties in question, the Board of Adjustments
made the following decisions:
1. Department of Natural Resources: Motion by Supervisor Stephens
to deny the request of D.N.R. for Pond Areas at the Lundy Pond location
because the funds and time spent on monitoring the results of the ponding
experiment could be better utilized in other wildlife management projects.
The placing of ponds or other interferences with marshlands is in sharp
contrast to previous wildlife management personnel recommendations.
Seconded by Supervisor Meinke. Motion carried. Vote to deny: Meinke,
yes; Kelly, yes; Stephens, yes.
2. George Sinclear: Motion by Supervisor Meinke to approve the request
as the rip -rap is needed to prevent further erosion of the banks. Mr. Sin -
clear shall have approval of the D.I.R. with a copy in the Zoning Administrator's
file. Seconded by Supervisor Kelly. Motion carried. Vote to approve:
Meinke, yes; Kelly, yes; Stephens, yes.
3. Mylan Erickson: Motion by Supervisor Stephens to grant approval
of the request as'it is in accordance with other residences in the area.
The house will be no closer to the water. Seconded by Supervisor Meinke.
Motion carried. Vote to approve: Meinke, yes; Kelly, yes; Stephens, yes.
4. Leonard Triebold: Motion by Supervisor Kelly to approve the drive-
way for one single family residence upon written approval from D.N.R. to
construct a driveway that would be near the highwater marks of the lake.
The Zoning Administrator shall have a copy of the D.N.R. approval in his
files and.make a final inspection of the road. Seconded by Supervisor
Stephens. Motion carried.. Vote to approve: Meinke, yes; Kelly, yes;
Stephens, yes.
The next scheduled hearing date is October 22, 1985.
Motion by Supervisor Kelly to adjourn. Seconded by Supervisor Meinke.
Motion carried.
