PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MEETING

Date: June 25, 2003 Location: Government Center, Hudson
The Personnel Committee meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. by Vice -
Chairman Leon Berenschot. Members present: Berenschot, Stan Krueger, Dick King,
and Julie Speer. Daryl Standafer arrived at 8:45 a.m. Also present: Debra Kathan,
Chuck Whiting, Dennis Hillstead, Steve Weld, and Carol Brogelman.
Moved (Speer, King) and approved to adopt the agenda as presented. Moved
(King, Speer) and approved to accept the minutes of the June 2, 2003 meeting. The next
regular meeting was scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on July 7.
Weld explained the arbitration process to the Committee and reviewed the County
and Union positions regarding the 2003 -2004 contract. Arriving at 9 a.m. was Arbitrator
Jay Grenig. Representing the LAW group were business agent Tom Bauer, Jim Dorsey,
Bob Widiker, Dave Hake, Mike Winberg, and Mike Dishno. After a brief attempt at
mediation, the sides presented materials regarding their arbitration positions. After
completing the documentation portion of the arbitration, the parties agreed to exchange
reply briefs on August 14, rebuttal briefs soon thereafter. Grenig said that he hoped to
have a decision made in the matter sometime in October.
Moved ( Berenschot, Krueger) and approved to adjourn at 1:30 p.m.
