PUBLIC HEARINGS
Conditional Use Permit Request - Rouleau Land Co. - Town of Warren
Hearing opened at 8:34 AM. Recess to observe site at 9:15 AM. Reconvened from site
visit and Closed hearing at 9:54 AM.
SITE VISITS
Recess from 9:13 AM to 9:54 AM for site visit.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Conditional Use Permit for a limited commercial recreational activity, hunting
preserve for paid hunts - Rouleau Land Co. - Town of Warren
Hays presented. Jim Rouleau applicant spoke of history of property under his care. Marie
Stockey, for Jake Stockey, asked about processing and effect upon the water in the
streams of the area. Bernie Lager (deer management staff for applicant) addressed
questions from the board - an environmental study has not been done, is low
concentration of animals, using good field practices, disposal of animals happens
immediately. DATCP will register each deer taken including culled animals. Stream on
property - no, there is a pond inside the fenced area. East of Junker sanitation site, did
do a Phase I environmental study back then. Annual testing is done on the well by
DATCP. Dave Niccum asked how secure is the fence? Fences are monitored regularly.
They do have fox and raccoon. Currently they are bringing deer outside of the preserve
to gut and process animals. Fence is not electrified. Recess for site visit.
Observations from site visit: Nelson - not really in public eye; desirable feature. Niccum -
not any different then deer hunting anywhere else in county.

August meeting on August 23, 2018 at 8:30 AM in the County Board Room.
Jim Nelson is not able to attend August 8-9. Ask Joe Miller. And then invite Steve Schalla
also. Would like lunch menu for two days - Jimmy Johns.
