Review of 2018 County Administrator Recommended Budget County Administrator Pat Thompson provided a general overview of the proposed 2018 budget. Review of equalized value up 7%, mill rate is down to $3.702294, St. Croix County levy per capita is 15th lowest of the 72 counties in Wisconsin and is below $110.61 below the average. St. Croix County's credit rating is a Aa1 (AA+). Review of current debt schedule (pre-highway facility debt). Debt levy increases to $0.447441. Annual debt levy increased by $1,600,298. Review of expenditures, revenues and new position requests. Discussion regarding the need for additional Emergency Tele- Communicator positions and overtime. Review of employee benefit summary showing an increase of 3.4% in health insurance premiums. Review of Health Center projections showing WIPFLI 2018 and St. Croix County 2018 projections. An example of the impact on a homeowner's county tax levy was reviewed using a median home value of $242,000 with the 2017 county tax of $896.73 and the 2018 county tax of $895.96. A - 0.09% change. Review of department budgets by Operations Manager Ken Witt and Finance Director Bob Mittet. Sjoberg asked Thompson to consider a budget increase of $200,000 in sales tax revenue. REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Berke indicated an Octoberfest fund raiser for the St. Croix County Fair is October 14th at Gibby's in New Richmond.
