BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Consideration of Capital Improvement Projects for 2020-2024
Review of Capital Improvement Project (CIP) plan by County Administrator Patrick
Thompson. Each department head with a CIP presented their projects. Thompson
explained preference paddles with a thumbs-up and thumbs-down were distributed to
board members and will be used for input on weather or not the projects should be
included or not included in the plan. Assistant County Administrator Ken Witt and
other department heads reviewed the projects.
The total of the 2020 projects is $2,147,700. Witt reviewed the proposed funding
plan and reported the bulk of the funds, $1,983,200 will be funded from the CIP fund
balance. Other funding sources include property sales, transfer from the
undesignated fund balance, DNR reimbursement, and grants which are attached to
projects. Witt reviewed the projects and board members showed approval or
disapproval with the preference paddles. Discussion regarding Lodox equipment for
2021.
Thompson stated the next steps are departmental budget meetings, Committee of
the Whole meeting in October to review budget and bring the budget to the County
Board in November.
