BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Strategic Planning Session
Welcome by County Administrator Patrick Thompson. Thompson introduced Eric
Biltonen, UW Extension Community Resource Educator, who assists organizations with
strategic planning. Also present was Selena Freimark, UW Extension Health and Well-
Being Coordinator.
Strategic Planning process and survey results reviewed by Biltonen. Workgroups
consisting of County Board Supervisors and Department Heads developed a list of
critical issues which were discussed and posted by category. Discussion regarding
setting category titles.
Governance - tasked to Administration Committee to review standing committee
self-evaluation and reduction of size of County Board
Zoning - Adopting Zoning Ordinance by March 2020
Roads Infrastructure - Maintaining and Future Providing for Future Infrastructure
County Finances - Achieving Financial Sustainability
County Employment - Adopting Effective Policies for Retention and Recruitment
Community Well-Being - Pursuing Innovative Strategies to Address Health and Well-
Being Issues
Services - Evaluating and Prioritizing County Services
Biltonen will format the initiatives and forward to Thompson. Final plan will be
presented to the County Board. Discussion regarding mandated and non-mandated
services.
Biltonen thanked everyone for their time and energy.
