BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Review 2023 Department Budget Forecast
County Administrator Witt explained the process and asked Department Heads to
highlight changes from their 2022 budget to their 2023 budget. Each department
highlighted projected budget changes including additional position requests,
operational cost increases and inflation impacts.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
2. Discuss 2023 Budget Priorities
County Administrator Ken Witt reviewed the Decision Matrix for Budget Priorities. Witt
explained Structural Deficits, Employee Compensation, Health Insurance, New Positions
and Operating Expenses.
Witt requested feedback from the board members and indicated the priorities will be
addressed at the May County Board meeting. Discussion regarding employee turnover,
review of long-term sick bank payout, ARPA funding, and review of health insurance
funding.
