St. Croix County Chapter 17, Subchapter III, Section 17.30
PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
The St. Croix County Community Development Committee will hold a public hearing on Thursday,
December 19, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. or shortly thereafter, at the Hudson Government Center’s
County Board Room, 1101 Carmichael Road, Hudson, Wisconsin, to consider the proposed
amendments to St. Croix County’s Zoning Ordinance – Chapter 17, to reflect the following:
1) Amend Subchapter III, Section 17.25 – 17.35 Shoreland Zoning. Specific changes include the
repealed and recreated Subchapter III, Section 17.30 Shoreland Overlay Districts.
2) Amend applicable sections of the General Provisions in Subchapter I, Section 17.02, 17.05,
17.06, 17.07, 17.08 and Definitions in17.09.
3) Amend applicable sections of the Administration and Enforcement Subchapter VII, Section
17.70, 17.71 and 17.72.
The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the hearing to begin shortly thereafter. County staff will provide
a short presentation and answer questions before public comments are heard.
In response to recent changes to Chapter NR 115, Wisconsin Administrative Code, St. Croix County
has been working to update and modernize the county’s shoreland regulations. The proposed rules
replace regulations based on setbacks and minimum lot sizes with a more flexible approach based on
site-specific mitigation of stormwater and vegetative impacts caused by shoreland development. County
shoreland regulations apply only to unincorporated shoreland areas.
Copies of the draft ordinance, planning documents and related maps and appendices are available at
the Community Development Department, Government Center, Hudson and the Agriculture Service &
Education Center, Baldwin. The documents may also be viewed or downloaded from the St. Croix
County website at: www.sccwi.us/countyshoreland
Oral and written comments will be accepted through the end of the hearing. Comments may also be
submitted prior to, or at the hearing; in person, by mail, fax or email to:
