1. Thiel - Setback Reduction Waiver - Town of Somerset
Grabau presented. Public hearing open at 5:15 p.m. No public speaks. Closed public
hearing at 5:15 p.m.
MOTION: To approve a waiver of the setback ordinance from 100 feet to 50 feet for
the property at 878 174th Avenue, New Richmond WI.
RESULT: RECOMMENDED [UNANIMOUS]

2. Amendment to the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance - Section 2, T31N, R19W, Town of
Somerset - Benck/Traiser Property
Grabau presented. Public hearing open 5:28 p.m.. No public comments heard. Public
hearing closed at 5:28 p.m.
MOTION: To recommend to the County Board to amend the Comprehensive
Zoning Ordinance for the Town of Somerset - Benck/Traiser property at 628 230th
Avenue Somerset WI to rezone .67 acres from Commercial District to Ag2 District
and from Ag2 District to Commercial District.
RESULT: RECOMMENDED [UNANIMOUS]

Dantoin presented.
Open public hearing: 5:38 p.m.. Comments: Mike Wright - lives in this area, was in
floodplain, working hard with FEMA to get this cleared up. Hansen - thanked Mr.
Wright. Mary Wright - thanked Budrow for his assistance in proving their property is not
near a floodplain, The Wrights appealed to Senator Ron Johnson and John DeVine.
Thanks to everyone that helped. Public hearing closed at 5:42 p.m..
MOTION: To recommend to the County Board to adopt the AMENDMENT TO
ST. CROIX COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES CHAPTER 17 SUBCHAPTER
IV SECTION 17.40 FLOODPLAIN OVERLAY DISTRICT §17.40 B.2.

4. UW Extension nEXT Generation Reorganization update
Sterry and Sprain presented.
MOTION - To propose a draft resolution requesting that we sustain the level of
service we have in St. Croix County.
Motion by Berke, Second by Hansen - Berke Aye, all others Nay. Motion failed.
Berke - Would like to hold another meeting of CDC with Joan Sprain and Ryan Sterry,
and Julie Bowmar from UW-Ext., Pat Thompson - concurred, Mr. Klemme might be able
to conference in, we should be involved and at the table. Ring - suggested a work session
and invite the whole county board, requested this be held after the WASEC Conference -
Wisconsin Associated County Extension Committees - be a topic on Committee of the
Whole agenda.
5. Update on Mitigation funds
Engesether presented.
Berke- asked if Hudson is included in mitigation funds, no it is not. Ring - this body did
not have input into the MOU. Ring - asked about property to the East of former Richards
site. Denzer - we have not ruled it out. Town of St. Joe is making inquiries. Denzer - loop
trail is DOT mitigation project. Not on these slides.
6. Update on Bike & Pedestrian Plan Project

Engesether presented.
Berke - asked when it will be presenting to communities and public again? Engesether -
depends on joint committee progress on plan review. Ring - noted this is a joint project
with Transportation Committee. Both committees are in general support. Ring will work
with Supervisor Bill Peavey, Chair of Transportation, to schedule a joint meeting.
7. Overview of Capital Improvement Projects
Denzer - presented.
Coulter requested a discussion of ways parks may bring in additional revenue at budget
time. Berke - noted Pine Lake Park sign needs repair. Peterson will address with parks
staff.
8. Financial Reports

REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
July - Shoreland ordinance workgroup along with Wisconsin Counties Association. Discussion
on nExt Gen and how we can help UW Extension in our county. August or September - Discuss
new park revenue sources. Tour of parks and new properties - September for western facilities;
August 4th tour eastern facilities prior to attending County Employee Picnic at Glen Hills
County Park.
