Community Development Committee – Regular Meeting – March 23, 2017 5:00 PM Berke - Please add title to Denzer reported in minutes once in the body. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT Supervisor Ring read submitted comment from Barb Nelson. Laverne Hoitomt - Comments regarding spill in Emerald Township. Virginia Drath - Comments regarding spill in Emerald Township. Kim Dupre - Comments regarding spill in Emerald Township. PUBLIC HEARINGS None BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Update on Water Quality Study Group - Agnes Ring Supervisor Ring reported about group meetings-talked about purpose of study group which meets two times per month. 2. Update Regarding Emerald Sky Dairy Spill Discussion between Committee, Staff, and County Personnel. Committee members requested staff send press releases from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources regarding the spill and from St. Croix County Public Health and Community Development regarding water testing and well maintenance to residents within two miles of Emerald Dairy. Community Development will send out. 3. Closed Session per Wis. Stats. § 19.85(1)(e) "...deliberating or negotiating the purchase of public properties..." - Eckert and Waldroff properties 10 minute recess. MOTION: To enter in to Closed Session. Roll call vote all yes. Reconvene into open session to report and/or take action on items discussed in closed session. MOTION: To return to open session (3:03PM) MOTION: To support the Town of St. Joseph in a grant application for acquisition of parkland from the Waldroff family up to $200,000 from the mitigation fund. Moved by Hansen, Second by Coulter. Financial Reports RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS ANNOUNCEMENTS AND CORRESPONDENCE Community Development Department Director Denzer distributed the calendar of recycling events and new parks brochures. At the next county board meeting will be poster and speaking contest winners. Also distributed were three water treatment and testing information handouts. Supervisor Coulter reported to contact Blake Fry at Hudson Chamber as he is coordinating the ribbon cutting for the grand opening of the new bridge on July 29th. 1. Private Well Maintenance 2.
