Community Development Committee – Regular Meeting – April 18, 2019 5:00 PM RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS] MOVER: Tom Coulter, Supervisor SECONDER: Ed Schachtner, Supervisor AYES: Ed Schachtner, Tom Coulter, Daniel Hansen, District 13, Judy Achterhof PUBLIC COMMENT John Thomas: Lake Mallalieu Association President, spoke of the Little Falls Dam breach. Patrick Vizner & Leah - major concerns regarding Ordinance ch. 17.345 minor home occupation regarding a neighbor. Diana Neubarth - president St. Croix Animal Friends, seeking support on getting the proposed deal with the animal shelter closed. Rick Ottino - relinquished time as Diana covered what he was going to say. PUBLIC HEARINGS none BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Presentation by Jon Hochkammer, Outreach Manager for the Wisconsin Counties Association In response to a question brought up at the last meeting, Chairman Hansen has invited John Hochkammer from the Wisconsin Counties Association to this meeting. John Hochkammer had a presentation and handout titled "Ethics 101 for Public Officials". RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Resolution for Participation in the WDNR Municipal Dam Grant Program and Support for a Joint Municipal Dam Grant Application for the Willow River Lower Power Dam Ellen Denzer, Community Development Department Director, presented the resolution to the committee. MOTION: To recommend to the county board to apply for this grant. RESULT: RECOMMENDED [UNANIMOUS] MOVER: Tom Coulter, Supervisor SECONDER: Judy Achterhof, Vice Chair AYES: Ed Schachtner, Tom Coulter, Daniel Hansen, Judy Achterhof 3. Financial Report for April 2019 Ken Witt, Director of Finance, and Ellen Denzer, Community Development Department Director, answered questions from the committee. REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Update on Rolling Hills situation spoken of in public comment period and Animal Shelter situation also spoken about in Public Comment - Requested by Supervisor Achterhof ANNOUNCEMENTS AND CORRESPONDENCE Ellen - this weekend is the Hazardous Waste Clean Sweep for the county. The Appliance and Electronics and Tires collections - June 15th. DATE OF NEXT MEETING: Special Meeting for Ordinance Worksession, Tuesday, May 21st at 9:00 AM. Regular meeting Thursday, June 20, 2019 at 5:00 PM in the County Boardroom ADJOURN
