Based on my findings, A+0 15-386-4677 conditions were found on April 6, 2007 requiring the Wisconsin Department of Commerce (DCOMM) approve the soil test. On April 13, 2007 Leroy Jansky Recycling 715-386-46?5 (DCOMM) verified the soil conditions as A+0 and determined that a new soil tested area should be located. On Thursday April 191h 2007 a new soil test was completed by Dave Steel. Pam Quinn and I verified all soil pits and descriptions. A typical soil profile consisted of silt loam over a sandy clay foam. The soil evaluation report by Gary Steel was completed in 2000. Current county policy is to verify soil conditions at all sites with 6 inches or less of suitable soil below the bottom of the A (topsoil) horizon. Three soil borings were dug by hand to verify soil conditions. One was located near B-2 as shown by Steel on his site plan. This boring had more than 4 inches of subsoil free of redoximorphic features. However, the area near B-1 and B-3 does not qualify with A>_4 conditions Redox features were observed immediately below the A horizon and in the lower part of the A horizon. The soil appears more disturbed (mixed) than from normal plowing for agricultural crops. I suggest redoing the soil evaluation and concentrating in the area at or above the elevation of B-2. Our verification indicates soil conditions may be better suited for a mound system at his higher elevation. Backhoe pits should be used since there appears to be some soil disturbance in parts of this site.
