BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Financial Reports
Council members received copies of the Projected Financial Report through April 2013.
The revenue and expense look in line. Council members were informed that the ADRC
and Aging filings have been submitted to the respective state agencies for reimbursement.
Council members were reminded that the 2012 carry over dollars on the ADRC side were
spent prior to spending any of the 2013 budgeted dollars. There was discussion on the
need to project expenses better and spend the dollars in the allocated calendar year.
Council members received information pertaining to the Trust accounts held in
fund 205 designated for the Nutrition and Transportation programs. The reports reflect
any transactions for the 1st and 2nd quarters of 2013. Monies in the Trust accounts are
specific to the Nutrition and Transportation programs and are used for larger purchases or
repairs that would not easily be covered by the budget.
2. Health & Human Services Building Facility Planning
On August 6, the County Board approved a resolution to purchase the vacant County
Market building located in New Richmond to house the Health and Human Services
departments. Planning has started and meetings with the architect have been set to
discuss layout. A survey will be sent to all the staff for input. The tentative move in date
would be summer 2014. Funding to purchase the building and complete the renovations
came from the sale of the farm land. If additional dollars are needed to complete the
renovations, a bonding bill would likely need to be put in place.
3. Nutrition Site Update
Council members were informed of the cook vacancy at the Glenwood City Nutrition
Site. It was determined that the meals for the Glenwood City Nutrition Site be prepared
at the Woodville Nutrition Site and then delivered to Glenwood City. Currently,
Woodville prepares meals for Baldwin, Hammond, and Roberts Nutrition Sites.
Additional hours were requested for the kitchen staff in Woodville and the drivers for
Glenwood City.
4. Transportation Requests (Out of County/Weekend)
The transportation requests for this month were Hudson to St. Paul on August 17;
Baldwin & Glenwood City to Stockholm on August 23; New Richmond to Amery on
Sept. 14; Deer Park to Stillwater sometime in Sept.; Nutrition Program Managers to Rice
Lake on Sept. 30. A motion was introduced by Grant; seconded by Burri and
unanimously adopted: To approve the out of county trips as requested.
5. Oustanding Older Adult Award
Harriet Meath, Hammond and John Terkelsen, Woodville, were honored as the
Outstanding Older Adult at the St. Croix County Fair on Friday, July 19.
6. Information & Assistance Update Sheet
Council members received a handout with the most recent numbers. There have been zero
disenrollments from ContinuUs; nine enrollments into ContinuUs; five IRIS enrollments; zero
IRIS disenrollments.
