BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Financial Reports
Council members received copies of the Projected Financial Report through July 2013. It
was reported to the Council that the ADRC may look over budget, but the carry-over
from 2012 was not figured into the budget. Those dollars were approved by the state to
spend on technology needed for implementation of ROWE. The Aging budget is slightly
over due to raw food cost and not as much revenue received as budgeted. The ADRC
budget will come in fine by the end of the year, while the Aging budget will be close.
2. 2014 Budget
Council members received the draft of the 2014 Budget for the ADRC and Aging
programs. It was explained that the draft did not include the pay for performance
increases or the revised position requests. The draft does include a 5% increase for health
insurance and the increase in retirement. No levy dollars have been added into any of the
budgets until the accurate health insurance and wage information comes in. At this time
the proposed budget is being reviewed by the Council. The recommended budget will be
presented to the Council in October for further review. The budget will go the
Committee of the Whole on October 23 with approval of the whole budget at the County
Board meeting on November 7.
3. Health & Human Services Building Facility Planning
The Council was informed that the preliminary design has been completed for the new
Government Support Services location in New Richmond. A survey was completed by
all Health & Human Services staff to assist in providing information regarding needs.
The next step is to put out an RFP for builder and then hopefully start the renovations in
January. The tentative move in date for staff would be mid 2014.
4. Transportation Requests (Out of County/Weekend)
The transportation requests for this month were Hudson to Bayport on September 30;
New Richmond to Minnesota for a leaf tour in September; Nutrition Program Managers
to Rice Lake on October 30. A motion was introduced by Berenschot; seconded by
Pelnar and unanimously adopted: To approve the out of county trips as requested.
5. Medicare Part D Open Enrollment
Council members were informed the annual enrollment period for Medicare Part D starts
October 15 and will run to December 7. Folks are encouraged to contact the ADRC for a
Plan Enrollment Form if they wish to compare their current plan with others that may be
available. Additional information regarding open enrollment can be found in the October
issue of the ADRC News.
6. Nutrition Site Update
The Council was informed the Nutrition site staff attended CPR training. The Baldwin
Senior Center hosted a Healthy Brain presentation, which was an initiative through the
state. The Monster Mash Bash will be held on Friday, October 18 at the Roberts Senior
Center from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. The Nutrition Advisory Committee and the Nutrition
Program Managers will be meeting on Wednesday, October 9.
The Council members were informed that with the cook vacancy at the Glenwood
City Nutrition Site, it was determined that the preparation of the meals for Glenwood
City would be shifted to the Woodville Nutrition Site. The Glenwood City Nutrition Site
would remain open for activities, on-site dining and the home-delivered meal program,
however it would no longer be considered a cooking kitchen. It was explained that
additional hours were added to the kitchen staff at the Woodville location to
accommodate the additional meals and the hours for the Glenwood City Nutrition
Program Manager were adjusted according the other non-cooking Nutrition Program
Managers.
7. Information & Assistance Update Sheet
Council members received a handout with the most recent numbers. There have been two
disenrollments from ContinuUs; ten enrollments into ContinuUs; ten IRIS enrollments; zero
IRIS disenrollments.
ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
Council members were informed of an upcoming ADRC survey being initiated by the state in
regards to quality assurance. Individuals who have received Information & Assistance through
the ADRC may receive a call in the upcoming months from the state.
