Community Services Coordinator Tracy Davis presented the 2014 Grant Application to the
Council members. The power point presentation reviewed what the 85.21 is and the projects
administered with grant dollars. There was discussion on the priority areas, budget and the
purchase of a new vehicle. A motion was made to approve the grant application by Council
member Burri; seconded by Council member Ostness; motion carried.
1. Financial Reports
Council members received copies of the Projected Financial Report through October
2013. The revenue for Aging is slightly higher than budgeted and the expenses are
slightly over, due to expenses billed to the Trust accounts and salary. The ADRC
overage in expense is due to the implementation of ROWE and carry over dollars from
2012 are being used to cover the overage. A letter was submitted to the state to utilize
any carry over dollars from 2013 for the upcoming move to New Richmond.
2. Information & Assistance Update Sheet
Council members received a handout with recent numbers. There has been one disenrollment
from ContinuUs; seven enrollments into ContinuUs; five IRIS enrollments; five IRIS
disenrollment.

need of replacement. Davis has been assessing the usage and needs for the Baldwin area
as well as the Hudson area. The new vehicle will be purchased using the Trust dollars
and will be a 14 passenger with 2 wheelchair bays. The ADRC will piggy back on the
state bid for vehicles with the cost around $50,000.
5. Secret Santa Program - update
Council members were informed the Secret Santa program through the ADRC was
combined with the program offered by HomeInstead Senior Care in Stillwater, MN.
Folks who were on the program last year were contacted regarding the program and were
able to submit requests as to what they would like to receive for Christmas. The requests
were then placed on an ornament to be hung on a tree for the public to retrieve and
purchase the item requested. Approximately, 70 folks received presents through the
program which were delivered by ADRC staff prior to Christmas.
6. Medicare Part D open enrollment - wrap up
Council members were informed that 317 individuals received assistance during Medicare
Part D open enrollment by the Disability and Elder Benefit Specialists. Even though open
enrollment has ended, the Benefit Specialists continue to assist individuals who are new to
Medicare and seeking a Medicare Part D plan.
