BUSINESS ITEMS
1. COAD Meeting Date changes
The Chair brought up dates in November and December that conflicted with Holidays.
The Council decided to change the meeting dates in November to Thursday, November
20 at 8:30 a.m. and December to Thursday, December 18 at 8:30 a.m. The meetings will
still be held in the County Board Room of the St. Croix County Government Center.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
2. Financial Reports
Council members received copies of Actual & Projected Financial report for the month of
June 2014. The current report shows Fund 230 ADRC over spent which is due to the
state buy down payment being submitted to the state in May. When looking at Fund 205
Aging, the revenue is ahead due to the levy being applied and the expenses do not reflect
all the bills from May or a payroll.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
3. 2nd Quarter and 6 mth Nutrition Statistics
Council reviewed the 2nd quarter and 6 month nutrition statistics. There was discussion
regarding the home-delivered meals provided to the residents of Hammond since the
closure of the Hammond Senior Center. The meals are still being provided by the
Baldwin Senior Center and the report will be modified to reflect that.

4. 2015 Budget Planning Review
Council members received information regarding the 2015 Budget guidelines,
instructions, and time lines. The projected budget includes dollars for the Caregiver
Support Coordinator and additional hours for the Nutrition Program Managers. The
Council will review the projected budget in September.

5. 8th Annual Caregiver Conference
The 8th Annual Caregiver Conference will be held on Friday, September 19 at the
WITC-New Richmond Campus. Registration forms were provided to the Council
members in their packets. Council members were asked to send their completed
registrations to the ADRC so they can be submitted to WITC and covered by the ADRC.

6. Information & Assistance Update Sheet
Council member received a handout with the numbers for August 2014. In August there
were three disenrollments from ContinuUs; thirteen enrollments into ContinuUs; eight
IRIS enrollment and six IRIS disenrollments.

7. Estate Recovery
Liza Gibson, Elder Benefit Specialist, presented information to the Council regarding the
changes in Estate Recovery Program that took effect August 1, 2014. Gibson provided
the Council with handouts regarding Estate Recovery and some of the changes. There
was discussion on some of the changes and questions were asked. Gibson informed the
Council, that if they had additional questions or concerns, to call the ADRC and ask for
an Elder Benefit Specialist.

8. Transportation Requests (Out of County/Weekend)
The Transportation request presented were: Baldwin to St. Paul in September; Deer Park
to Oakwood/Maplewood in September.

9. Curb Cut concern in Hudson and throughout St. Croix County
Council member Pelnar presented a concern that she has regarding the curb cuts in
Hudson. There was discussion on what she had done to bring her concerns to the
attention of the City of Hudson. There was discussion on whether the curb cuts are up to
code and what the county could do to urge the cities, villages and towns in St. Croix
County. It was suggested that a resolution to urge cities, town, and villages to examine
curb cuts to make sure they are up to code, safe and passable. A motion to have a
resolution drafted was presented by Pelnar; seconded by Kiesler; motion passed.

10. 2014 Walk to End Alzheimer's
Council members were informed the event will be held on Saturday, September 20 at The
Deerfield in New Richmond. The ADRC will have a team walking again this year.

11. 2014 St. Croix County Fair - wrap up
Beckman thanked those that volunteered at the Senior Citizens building during the 2104
St. Croix County. The Senior Center Board Coalition raised over $500 in sales from
popcorn, water and juice. The Senior Centers collectively raised over $1,000 in silent
auction. Sharon Ammerman of Somerset and Rolland Thompson of Deer Park were
recognized as the Outstanding Older Adults for St. Croix County.

ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
Council member Berenschot announced that he would be stepping down from the Council on
Aging and Disabilities after the September 26th meeting. The COAD will advertise for person
over the age of 60 to fill his position on the Council.
Beckman read a thank you from the CP group who received transportation through the ADRC to
camp in July. Council members were informed of an upcoming fundraiser for the Woodville
Senior Center at Culver's in Baldwin. A variety of newspaper articles were passed around
pertaining to the ADRC.
