BUSINESS ITEMS
1. ADRC Disability Benefit Specialist program presentation
Marian Mottaz, ADRC Disability Benefit Specialist (DBS), introduced herself and
provided information regarding the Disability Benefit Specialist program. The program
assists those over the 18 - 59 seeking direction when filing for Social Security Disability
and other public benefits. There was discussion on the number of folks denied and the
number appeals. There are groups of folks that receive the denials more than others.
The DBS position within the ADRC utilizes the 100% time attendance model and is able
to draw down Federal dollars to bring in revenue to the ADRC. Handouts were given to
the Council members regarding Wisconsin's DBS program and one on Social Security.
