There was one public comment on the project.
BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Consideration of Government Center Cost Estimates
Sid shared a detailed document of the building estimates of the costs for the project for
the budget. As the building project gets closer to being built, the costs will become
more exact. He is looking to reduce costs in areas throughout the building project and
shared multiple areas it could be done for the build to meet the budget. Witt stated we
need to reduce the base bid and figure out the alternate if the base bid is reduced. Witt
asked the board about what should be kept, cut, or keep the agenda presented the
same.
Leaf motioned, Fielder second to approve project scope for the Government Center. 4-0
motion carried. Elsbury discussed the flooring for the jail and the county building. The
flooring is high quality and softer to walk on. It's a product that lasts and reduces costs.
The planks are replaceable and stain resistant. The board is favorable to move forward
with the flooring cost savings.
