Health & Human Services Board – Regular Meeting – March 13, 2018 5:30 PM Health and Human Services Board Convener Tom Coulter asked if there is a need for any editing of the March 13, 2018 minutes. With nothing noted Convener Coulter accepted the minutes as submitted. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT Health and Human Services Board Convener Tom Coulter opened the meeting to public comment. John Strom from the Town of Forest addressed the Board regarding the improper siting of industrial wind turbine farms causing health effects. No additional public comment. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Election of Health and Human Services Board Chair Health and Human Services Board Convener Tom Coulter asked for nominations for Chair of the Health and Human Services Board. Supervisor Moothedan nominated Supervisor Anderson, Supervisor Anderson nominated Supervisor Ostness and Supervisor Coulter nominated Supervisor Long. With no other nominations, nominations were closed and a secret ballot vote was taken. The first voting results for Health and Human Services Board Chair were two votes for Supervisor Anderson, three votes for Supervisor Ostness, and three votes for Supervisor Long . A second secret ballot vote was taken for Supervisor Ostness and Supervisor Long, as their votes were tied and they received the highest number of votes. The results of the second vote were five votes for Supervisor Ostness and three votes for Supervisor Long. Supervisor Ostness was elected the Health and Human Services Board Chair. Convener Coulter turned the meeting over to the new Health and Humans Services Board Chair Supervisor Dave Ostness. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Election of Health and Human Services Board Vice Chair Health and Human Services Board Chair Dave Ostness asked for nominations for Vice Chair of the Health and Human Services Board. Supervisor Anderson nominated Supervisor Long. Supervisor Long nominated Supervisor Coulter. Supervisor Moothedan nominated Supervisor Anderson. With no other nominations, nominations were closed and a secret ballot vote was taken. The voting results were two votes for Supervisor Long, two votes for Supervisor Coulter and four votes for Supervisor Anderson. The new Health and Humans Services Vice Chair is Supervisor Paulette Anderson. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Establish Meeting Schedule of the Health and Human Service Board After discussion among the Health and Human Services Board members, the consensus was to meet on the second Wednesday of each month @ 5:30 PM in the Government Center Boardroom, Hudson, Wisconsin. The next meeting will be May 9, 2018 at 5:30 PM. REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Health and Human Services Board Chair Dave Ostness asked if Board members had any requests for future agenda items. With no requests, Board members are encouraged to contact Chair Ostness, Vice Chair Anderson, or Health and Human Services Director Fred Johnson if any requests come up. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE No announcements today. ADJOURN Health and Human Services Board Chair Dave Ostness called the May 4, 2018 organizational meeting adjourned at approximately 9:45 AM.
