Health & Human Services Board Regular Meeting July 20, 2022 5:00 PM Health and Human Services (HHS) Board Chair Tellijohn asked the Board if after the review of the minutes from the July 20, 2022 HHS Board meeting if any editing was needed. With nothing noted a Motion was made by Supervisor Leaf to approve the minutes from the June 15, 2022 HHS Board meeting and was seconded by Board Member Lindemann. A voice vote was taken and all approved. RESULT: APPROVED \[UNANIMOUS\] MOVER: Cathy Leaf, Supervisor SECONDER: Deb Lindemann, Citizen Board Member -Nurse AYES: Julie Madaris, Lisa Lind, Shawn Anderson, Cathy Leaf, Dave Ostness, Greg Tellijohn, Mike Barcalow, Deb Lindemann PUBLIC COMMENT HHS Board Chair Tellijohn opened the meeting to Public Comment for items on or off the agenda. No Public Comment tonight. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Health and Human Services Monthly Financials Fiscal Manager Fay Strenke reviewed the monthly financials with the Board. Strenke highlighted that in Children Services (CS), the Youth Community Support Services (YCSS) revenues are up and expect that program's revenues to come in over budget as other revenues in CS are also ahead of last year. The increase in Purchased Services are mainly due to out of home placements within CS as other Purchased Services are running the same as last year. There has been a task force established to work on addressing the out of home placement issue. In the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) donations are similar to last year, but catered food is higher due to kitchen changes at meal sites and overall costs are increasing. The Health Care Campus (HCC) is showing the Nursing Home and Orchard View running very similar to last year and overall is in the positive. No questions tonight. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Health and Human Services Board Orientation Presentations HHS Director Rohret introduced this agenda item and informed that this is the first of several HHS Board orientation presentations to coincide with the mandated services agenda items. Tonight will highlight the Administration Division which includes the Office Support Team as well as Records. Executive Administrative Assistant Colleen Linder reviewed a power point with the Board highlighting the variety of work that the Office Support Team completes daily and was followed by a presentation by Tammy Wilson who informed about the important work the Records division provides for staff and consumers. Discussion & questions followed. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Review of Services Provided by Health and Human Services Health and Human Services (HHS) Director Rohret reviewed the spreadsheet with the HHS Board and informed of the many services under the Administration Division umbrella and who or what's involved with them. Rohret discussed whether the services are mandated and also the funding used to provide these services. Discussion and questions followed. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Health and Human Services (HHS) Board Chair Tellijohn asked the Board Members for any requests for future agenda items. Board Members are encouraged to contact HHS Director Rohret or HHS Board Chair Tellijohn if items arise. *Communicable Disease Update ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Chair Tellijohn asked the Board if there are any announcements tonight. Supervisor Barcalow asked about an update on Dr. Applicants for the vacant HHS Board position. County Administrator Witt shared that this is in progress.
