APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. February 8, 2013 8:00 AM Approved. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT No Public Comment BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Financial Reports Pat Thompson reviewed the December 2012 preliminary report and the January 2013 report. Discussion. 2. 9-1-1 Center/EOC Project Update Director Casey Swetlik summarized the 9-1-1 Center/EOC project. Requests for proposal were published on February 12, 2013, a pre-submittal conference was held with interested parties on February 20, 2013, the bids were due yesterday on February 28, 2013. Out of the five architectural firms who attended the pre-submittal conference there were two bids received. Now the project is in the bid analysis phase. RFP selection committee will meet on Monday, March 4, 2013. The goal is to bring forth a recommendation to Administrator Thompson by Monday afternoon for him to present to the full County Board on Tuesday. Discussion. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Sheriff John Shilts reported with the upcoming retirement of jail Captain Humphrey and Lieutenant VanSomeren appointed as Jail Captain, Jason Sykora has been named as the patrol Lieutenant. Officer Sykora has been with the canine unit. His canine, Doc has recently experienced some medical issues and is six years old. The decision was made to retire Doc, after asking other Law Enforcement agencies if they would be interested in taking Doc, but with his medical problems there was no interest. Tyler L`Allier has been named as a new Canine officer. Officer L'Allier's canine partner arrived yesterday from the St. Paul Police Department. The new canine is a one year old German Shepard from Czechoslovakia. Both Officer L'Allier and the yet to be named canine will begin training within the next week. The Sheriff invited members of the committee to attend the Sheriff's Office award banquet on 3/14/2013 at 6:30 PM in the Community Room. ADJOURN Meeting was adjourned by Chairman Larson at 8:21 AM.
