APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Public Protection & Judiciary Committee – Regular Meeting – June 10, 2016 8:00 AM RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT None offered. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Financial Reports Ken Witt, presented the Financial reports through the end of May 2016. Revenues and Expenses are in line with projected balances. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Diversion Program Report Diversion Coordinator Supervisor Lisa Multhauf presented a report on the Diversion Program (see attached). Discussion. The committee thanked Lisa for her work and the presentation. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Medical Examiner's Office Medical Examiner Patty Schachtner reported on the current statistics and trends in the Medical Examiner Office. 28 autopsies as of July 12th; seven accidental, four suicides, three pending, 13 natural and one medical misadventure. The department is seeing an upward trend in senior citizen accidental overdoses. The department has processed 5 stillborn births (see attached). The department is working with Public Health and hospitals to find answers. Chair Brinkman thanked Schachtner for the work done on the Opiates symposium. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. 9-1-1 Infrastructure Phase II Emergency Support Services Director Stephen T'Kach presented a timeline on the Infrastructure Phase II project (see attachment). Somerset, New Richmond-Nursing Home, Deer Park towers are all built. Roberts will begin construction within the week followed by construction of the River Falls tower. Microwave contract has been awarded and now the frequency coordination and manufacturing phase of the project. Consoles and the LMR (Land Mobile Radio) are the next phases of the project. Project is within Budget at this time. Discussion on concerns over the lapsed lease at the Kingstack tower and options if negotiations do not lead to a renewed lease. Discussion. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Resolution Designating Emergency Vehicles of the St. Croix County Emergency Support Services Department Emergency Support Services Director Stephen T'Kach presented the resolution designating the two department vehicles (MC1-Communications Van and MC2-Durango) as Emergency Vehicles. Motion by Larson/Achterhof to approve. Passed.
