APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1.Public Protection & Judiciary Committee Regular Meeting August 12, 20168:00 AM RESULT:ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT No Public comments were offered BUSINESS ITEMS 1.Financial Reports Administrator Thompson presented the expenditures and revenue balances of July 31, 2016. RESULT:DISCUSSED 2.9-1-1 Infrastructure Phase II ESS Director Stephen T'Kach reported the Land/Mobile radio bids will be let on October 14, 2016. The River Falls tower site has seen some delays due to rain. There have been continued conversations regarding possible Houlton land. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. LEPC membership Chair Brinkman appointed Scott Nelson to the LEPC. Roger Larson is on the LEPC as County Board chair. RESULT: NO ACTION 4. Community Justice Collaborating Council (CJCC) Coordinator Mike O'Keefe reported the subcommittees continue to meet and have positive outcomes. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. 2017 Budget Review Administrator Thompson began the review of the 2017 departmental budgets. Thompson is currently in the final stages of the Administrator Revised numbers. The Administrator Revised portion of the budget summary will be available to County Board Supervisors at the Committee of the Whole meeting in October. Administrative Operations Manager Ken Witt presented each departmental budget request with history. Department Heads contributed details and answered questions from the committee. Administrator Thompson thanked the committee for the review of the budget and the Department Heads for their work on the budget. Thompson informed the committee if there are further comments and/or feedback contact Ken, himself or the Department Head. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS ESS Director T'Kach announced that Kristen Sailer has resigned from St. Croix County and has accepted a position with Ramsey County in Minnesota. T'Kach thanked Sailer for her service to St. Croix County. Natasha Cardinal from Emergency Management has been appointed Interim Emergency Manager. The committee also acknowledged Sailer's good work. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE No announcements or correspondence was presented. ADJOURN Meeting was adjourned at 9:15 AM DATE OF NEXT MEETING OCTOBER 21 2016 Date of next meeting was changed from October 14th to October 21st.
