BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Financial Reports
County Administrator Thompson reviewed the financial reports. Thompson thanked the
department heads for good management of their budgets.

2. 9-1-1 Infrastructure Phase II
Emergency Support Services Director Stephen T'Kach provided an update on the Excel
contract. T'Kach reported they are continuing to pursue the Houlton tower and looking
for land for the tower. An information meeting is scheduled for March 9th beginning at
6:30 pm at the St. Joseph Town Hall regarding the tower. T'Kach noted the King Plant is
expensive and dirty to work on.
T'Kach provided an updated on the Phase II project noting $4,630,000 has been spent to
date. T'Kach provided an update on the microwave installation with the goal to have the
system up and operational by Memorial weekend.
ESS entered into a one year contract with RAVE which replaces Code Red as the mass
notification system.

3. Medical Examiner's Office
Medical Examiner Patty Schachtner reported the Medical Examiner's office is preparing
for a move to former ESR building in New Richmond. Schachtner reported 70 cases as of
today and is working on community outreach.

4. Annual Jail Inspection with Day Report Center
The committee took a 5-minute recess then began the annual jail inspection with staff.

ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
Chair Brinkman announced Compass assessment training is scheduled for March 31, 2017
beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Government Center. The training is open to Pierce and Polk
Counties.
Sheriff Shilts stated the Sheriff Office annual recognition ceremony is scheduled for March 7,
2017 at Faith Community Church. Chair Brinkman stated the County Board meets at 5:00 p.m.
that day.
