CJCC Coordinator Mike O'Keefe reported the CJCC at its last meeting voted in favor of
supporting the Jail Mental Health project. A thank you was given to Mike Nieskes,
District Attorney for working on a protocol for helping Veterans through the court
system. Judge Waterman reported on a site visit from the department of justice.
Overall our program was evaluated very well, with recommendations to consider.
One of the items the department is working on is fees charged to the participants.
Everyone who participates is charged $1,000. When we started the TRACK2 (alcohol)
these participants struggled with paying those along with incarcerations, fines,
bracelets, huber and other fees. Looking at other agencies and their fees and may
consider a sliding fee scale.
Community Service program was discussed.
