1. Introduction of incoming District Attorney Karl Anderson
This agenda item has been moved to January 7, 2021 meeting.

2. Financial Report October 2020
Interim County Administrator Ken Witt reviewed the financial reports included in the
agenda packet. All departments are within budget parameters.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
3. Circuit Court update
Judge Needham reported a new operational plan has been implemented for pre trials
that do not involve evidence. Non constitutionally mandated jury trials have been
suspended. The Courts will evaluate the current operational plan again at the beginning
of the year. The new plan addresses concerns for the jurists during a trial with the
current pandemic status. The courts now have the ability to have some staff work
remotely.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
4. Community Justice Collaborating Council and Subcommittees Report
CJCC Coordinator Mike O'Keefe reported December is an off month for the CJCC council
meetings. Criminal Justice subcommittee will meet in December. RMS (Record
Management System) will be implemented in April 2021. Criminal Justice subcommittee
will be working on updating the mapping of the process people go through when
working through the criminal justice system. Supervisor Berning offered to help with this
project.
Interviews for the contracted pretrial support specialist in the DRC will be coming up
soon. Justice Point is the positions contract provider. The interviewing should be
held within the next two weeks with a start date of the first of the year.

5. Resolution in Support of Increased County Child Support Funding
Child Support Administrator Lisa Plunkett explained the purpose behind the resolution.
The increased funding would enable the Child Support department to update the
outdated software system along with other improvements. Motion by Feidler seconded
by Hansen to approve the resolution in support of increased County Child Support
Funding. Motion carried 5-0.

6. Medical Examiner's Office Update
Medical Examiner Patty Schachtner directed the committee to the report included in
the agenda packet. The department has been invited to participate in a global work
team on suicide prevention. Discussion.

REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Chair Feidler invited District Attorney Michael Nieskes to speak to the committee. DA Mike
Nieskes reported on the steps the District Attorney's Office has taken during the pandemic to
keep the office running and everyone as safe as possible. Remote work has been implemented
for assistant district attorneys, support staff and
victim witness.
Supervisor Dan Hansen offered agenda item to address increase vigilance in mask wearing
in the Government Center but particularly in the County Board room.
