BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Financial Report for October 2021
Administrator Witt reviewed the Financial reports included in the agenda packet for Year
to date as of October 31, 2021. The budget balances for the departments are in
acceptable ranges.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
2. Medical Examiner Report
ME Patty Schachtner thanked Chair Feidler for reviewing her annual report (included in
the packet). Schachtner reported the department is 41 cases ahead of 2020 which at this
time was 60 cases of the previous year. The case load continues to increase. Staffing
issues will continue. The department continues to work on recruiting employees.
The department is reviewing possible process changes to help with workloads. CT
Scanner should be installed and functional by end of first quarter.

3. Pretrial Measurements from Justice Support Services
The committee reviewed the Justice Support Services report included in the agenda
packet. Director Capparelli is ill and not in attendance. Discussion.

ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
Sheriff Scott Knudson reported long-time employee Steve Bahneman will be retiring on
December 10, 2021. Steve has been an employee of St. Croix County for over 41 years in
Emergency Communications. Knudson briefly shared some highlights of Mr. Bahneman's career.
Steve has worked with 7 sheriff's and 6 911 Directors. Chair Feidler thanked Bahneman for his
service to St. Croix County.
Chair Feidler spoke on attending a neighborhood community meeting which Lt. Coleman
gave a presentation and was very impressed.
