1. Transportation Committee – Regular Meeting – December 19, 2022 8:30 AM

BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Monthly Finance Report
Kathy Rineck reviewed the monthly Financial Report.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
2. Highway Department Monthly Report
Wisconsin County Highway Association Update- Patrick Vander Sanden has
been hired as the Executive Director.
Highway Department Winter Maintenance Update-Based on the winter
maintenance budget, staff plans to review and revise the 5 year plan. The updated
plan will be presented at the March Transportation Committee meeting.
Work Zone Safety-Wisconsin County Highway Association and Wisconsin
County Association plan to present Driver Education Work Zone education,
Flagger Bill of Rights Legislation and Hands Free Legislation.

3. Safe Roads and Highways For All Grant Update
St. Croix County was one of the recipients for the Safe Road for All grant. This proactive
safety plan will analyze the St. Croix County highway system for systemic safety
enhancements.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
4. Baldwin Facility Fire Damage Repair Update
Todd Rehnelt updated the Committee on the cold storage fire damage. Restoration is to
be completed soon.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
5. Highway Department Snow Plow Incidents Review
St. Croix County had 13 snowplows hit during this current winter season. State law
allows tickets to be issued to drivers that come in contact with a snowplow.
Staff is working with St. Croix County and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation
to issue press releases and posts on social media regarding safe winter driving.

6. West Central District Spring Meeting May 4, 2023
The West Central District meeting will be held in Pierce County.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
Staff will be meeting with the City of New Richmond regarding the County Road K Bridge
construction.
