APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1.September 10, 2012 8:30 AM The September 10, 2012 minutes were accepted as presented. RESULT:ACCEPTED DATE OF NEXT MEETING NOVEMBER 12, 2012 PUBLIC COMMENT There were no public comments at this time. BUSINESS ITEMS 1.2013 Budget Discussion Ramberg reviewed the most recent version of the 2013 Highway Deparment budget request which included a $200,000 reduction from the original request. He highlighted the 3 main areas that would be cut in order to accommodate the reduction. He noted that any more reductions in the budget may force the Department to cut projects that may result in the loss of outside funding. Hansen noted that work is progressing on the general County budget. A motion was made and seconded (Joe Hurtgen/Ostness)to accept the proposed budget as presented. Motion carried. 2.Highway Department Business Plan Review Ramberg reviewed the most current version of the Highway Department Business Plan. Several amendments were discussed including obsolete language in the accounts payable section, the addition of the County's support for rail and other forms of mass transit in St. Croix County and recognition of safety concerns with the blending of motorized and non motorized vehicles on the county roadways. A motion was made and seconded (Ostness/Joe Hurtgen) to approve the Highway Department Business Plan as amended. Motion Carried. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Ramberg reviewed the following announcements and correspondence: October 25, 2012 the Fall Commissioners and Committeemen's meeting is scheduled to be held in Clark County. Ramberg solicited interest in attending the 2013 Winter Road School to be held January 14- 16, 2013 at the Chula Vista Resort in the Wisconsin Dells. Current media announcements about mailbox placement within the right of way jointly published with Planing and Zoning Department. WCHA resolutions on various Frac Sand issues. State Routine Maintenance Projects (RMA) level of funding verses level of service required dollars. Preliminary definition of maintenance projects and classification of maintenance activities. Preliminary project design plans for the I-94 and CTH "T" bridge. ADJOURN Meeting was adjourned at 10:55 a.m. by Chairman Peavey.
