BUSINESS ITEMS
1.Review 12-3-2012 WCHA Board of Directors Meeting
Ramberg shared that the WCHA Board of Directors acted to move forward with a
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding state highway maintenance and
funding needs between Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), Wisconsin
Transportation Builders Association (WTBA), and Wisconsin County Highway
Association (WCHA) along with a draft resolution urging legislators to vote in favor of
using transportation dollars for transportation purposes.
A motion was made by (Ostness/Joe Hurtgen, to approve the resolution urging legislators
to vote in favor of using transportation dollars for transportation purposes and bring the
resolution to the January County Board. Motion Carried.
The Committee also discussed and clarified the desires from the last meeting on moving
forward with two other resolutions for the County Board. The desire is to bring them to
the County Board in January 2013 rather than after the MOU was finalized. One
resolution that supports the development of an MOU between WisDOT, WTBA, and
WCHA and another one that speaks to issues outside the MOU that would assist local
units of government and other associations with efforts of intergovernmental cooperation,
program streamlining, and continued improvement in utilization of taxpayer resources.
