Transportation Committee – Regular Meeting – July 13, 2015 8:30 AM RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Consider ROW Purchase County Road J Bridge at Parker Creek Durkee shared the schedule of land interests and costs for the upcoming CTH “J” bridge replacement. Motion made by Peterson, second by Ostness to approve the schedule of land interests as presented. Motion carried. RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS] MOVER: David Peterson, Supervisor SECONDER: Dave Ostness, Vice Chair AYES: Scott Nelson, Dave Ostness, Daniel Hansen, David Peterson, William Peavey 2. Financial Update Ramberg reviewed the June 2015 Highway Department financial report. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Preliminary 2016 Budget Review Ramberg shared a draft of the Highway Department Budget for 2016. The Committee discussed various projected revenues and additional unfunded mandates. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Transit Planning Sub Committee Appointment & Update Ostness gave an overview of the Sub Committee held on July 31. He announced he was voted Chair of the Sub Committee and Scott Nelson was voted Vice Chair. A motion was made by Peavey, second by Peterson to add Peg Gagnon of BRIDGE For Community Life (BRIDGE For Youth and Adults with Disabilities) to the Sub Committee. Motion carried. The next meeting is scheduled for Friday, August 14, 2:00 p.m. at the St. Croix County Services Center in New Richmond. Hammond Building Feasibility Study Update Steve Walker and Cory Scheidler of Cedar Corporation gave an update on the feasibility study which includes short, intermediate, and long term options. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Items include the status of additional signage options on CTH “A”, 2016 Budget, and various revenue projections and options (i.e. County Registration Fee, General Transportation Aids, and State project revenues). ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Jim Krizan shared the status of various summer construction projects. Fall Commissioner’s meeting is scheduled for October 15, 2015 at Big Guys BBQ, North Hudson. Ramberg announced that the Highway Department was paid in full for road damages discussed previously. Staff reviewed a flood petition delivered to the State for a reimbursement of 75% to the Highway Department. Staff has contacted the State in regards to the State Highway 12/Badlands Road/County Road UU intersection concerns. There will be a meeting on Thursday, August 13 regarding the Flying J Truck Stop in Roberts. The Annual Safety Day at the Highway Department is scheduled for October 20.
