1. Transportation Committee – Regular Meeting – August 11, 2015 8:30 AM

BUSINESS ITEMS
1. Financial Update
Ramberg reviewed the July 2015 Highway Department financial report.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
2. Preliminary 2016 Budget Review Including Various Revenue Projections
Ramberg and Mittet reviewed and answered questions regarding the 2016 Highway
Department Budget as well as the County Budget. The Committee discussed information
received since the last meeting, revenue source projections (Federal and State Project
Revenues, State share of costs revenues, Transportation Aids, Registration Fees, Permit
Fees, and County-Aid Bridge revenues) and highlighted the role, strategy, and use of each
one.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
3. Transit Planning Sub Committee Update
Ostness gave an overview of the Sub Committee held on August 25. The Sub Committee
has put out a survey in regards to resources.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
4. West Wisconsin Rail Coalition
Chair Peavey appointed Dan Hanson to the WI Gateway Corridor Coalition and to attend
the various related Wisconsin meetings. Chair Peavey appointed Dave Ostness to attend the
various transit Minnesota Gateway meetings as needed.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
5. Staff Development Matrix Update
Ramberg gave an overview of the Highway Training Matrix.
RESULT: DISCUSSED
6. Consider School Bus Stop Ahead Sign Installation Requests
Durkee provided information regarding two school bus stop ahead signs (CTH 'M' & CTH
'SS'). A motion was made by Ostness, second by Peterson to install the School Bus Stop
Ahead signs and modify the speed limit on CTH 'MM'. Motion Carried.

ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE
Jim Krizan shared the status of various County, Town and State construction projects along with
concerns regarding graffiti painted on CTH 'A' pavement in Boardman.
Signage along CTH 'A' is being reviewed by the County Engineer.
Cemstone contacted the Highway Department regarding options to cross CTH 'G' with material.
2015 WISLR (Wisconsin Information System for Local Roads) inspections will begin this fall.
There will be repair work on I94 & US 35 during the overnight hours on Wednesday and Thursday
night of this week.
Committee of the Whole is October 14, 2015.
Fall Commissioner’s meeting is scheduled for October 15, 2015 in North Hudson.
The Annual Safety Day at the Highway Department is scheduled for October 20, 2015.
