Transportation Committee – Regular Meeting – November 9, 2015 8:30 AM RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT Billy and John Raleigh, River’s Edge Apple River Tubing & Camping spoke to the Committee regarding the State Highway 64 freeway/expressway designation and conversion study. BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Monthly Financial Report Todd Rehnelt reviewed the Highway Department financial report. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Review Freeway/Expressway Designation and Conversion Study Jeff Abboud and Jeff Emerson gave an update of the State Highway 64 study, including history, design options and future planning. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Consider County Highway 'C' No Parking Signs Request Staff has not heard from the Town of Star Prairie regarding parking concerns. No action taken. RESULT: NO ACTION 4. Resolution Authorizing the Sale of Excess County Land Motion made by Dave Ostness/Dan Hanson to forward the resolution to the County Board. Motion carried. Review Draft Resolution for County Work Zone Awareness Week Motion made by Dan Hanson/Scott Nelson to forward the County Work Zone Awareness Week resolution to the County Board. Motion carried. Transit Planning Sub Committee Update Dave Ostness reviewed the December 18, 2015 meeting. The Sub-Committee is waiting for funding approval. The Sub Committee is developing an informational presentation to present at various group meetings. RESULT: DISCUSSED 7. Highway Department Facility Study Update Todd Rehnelt presented an Executive Summary of the Hammond facility. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Scott Nelson requested background/history on Badlands Road. Cedar Corporation is planning a presentation to the Committee regarding the Hammond facility study. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Construction on Radio Road is complete and is planned to be paved this summer. Mann Lane is currently in the design phase. A Public Information Meeting is planned for January 26, 2016, 5:30 pm, at the New Richmond City Hall regarding County Road 'GG' between 140th and 150th Street. The Federal Government has a long term transportation plan in place, FAST Act H.R. 22. There are probable changes to the funding programs. WCHA Winter Road School will be January 18-20, 2016 in Wisconsin Dells. ADJOURN DATE OF NEXT MEETING The next Transportation Committee meeting is scheduled for February 8, 2016, 8:30 am at the Highway Department office.
