Intersections at Hwy 65 &Hwy 12 -(3) way stop NEW BUSINESS: 1. Intersection CTH UU & Carmichael Rd 2. Any other traffic matters to come before committee. Klanderman DATE: January 9, 2003 COPIES TO:County Clerk News Media /Notice Board Committee Members 9 St. Croix county Traffic Safety Commission meeting was held January 15, 2003 at the Sheriff's Department in Hudson at 1:30PM. Present were: Jim Harer, Charles Grant, Jack Colvard, Greg Helgeson, Buzz Marzolf, Dennis Johnson , Miles Wittig, Brian Erickson, Clarence Malick, Bob Klanderman and Pam Dabruzzi Chairman Klanderman called meeting to order. Motion to adopt agenda made, seconded and approved. Motion to accept minutes of October 16, 2002 made and approved. - Discussion held reference (3) stop signs at Hwy. 65 and Hwy. 12. Mr. Colvard suggested traffic lights instead. Decision was made to just keep observing the conditions there for awhile. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: NEW BUSINESS: Chairman Klanderman held a discussion reference the lane markings for turns on Co. Rd. UU and Carmichael Rd. On Carmichael Rd. going north the right had lane isn't marked at all and should be marked as right turn lane only. Mr. Helgeson suggested making the left turn (straight lane) a left turn lane only and make the right lane a right turn and straight ahead lane. A motion was made and seconded to send a letter to Mr. Helgeson at DOT concerning the Co. Rd. UU and Carmichael Rd intersection reference turn lane markings. A copy will be forwarded to the City of Hudson. -Mr. Johnson stated there were 803 fatalities in WI for 2002. A lot of fatalities are due to lack of seatbelt use. St. Croix County has a 70.3% usage rate. -Mr. Johnson and Mr. Helgeson passed out some handouts. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND CORRESPONDENCE Motion made and seconded to adjourn. Motion carried.
