Community Justice Collaborating Council - Regular Meeting - Oct 23, 2014 8:00 AM Minutes of October 23, 2014 were accepted as presented. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT* BUSINESS ITEMS 1. Financial Report CJCC Coordinator Mike O'Keefe presented the CJCC and the Department of Justice Treatment & Alternatives (TAD) Grant for the period through October 2014. He also presented the TAD G-2 Reimbursement form submitted to the Department of Justice for the 3rd quarter of the grant period. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Domestic Violence Study Update CJCC Coordinator Mike O'Keefe discussed the current status of the Domestic Violence Study for St. Croix County. Katie Heaton, who volunteered to assist with this study started with a new employer in MN, but will continue to work with us on this report. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Community Service Update CJCC Coordinator Mike O'Keefe is going to meet with Scott Cox, Corporation Counsel, and Kristen Ziliak, Senior Management Analyst on December 16, 2014 to discuss liability issues surrounding a County Community Service Program. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. Victim Witness, CJCC, Drug Court Space Update Discussion was held on the move of the CJCC Coordinator and Drug Court Coordinator to the vacant Victim Witness Space. RESULT: DISCUSSED 5. Grace Place Visit & Update Judge Vlack reported on the visit to the new Grace Place in New Richmond, WI made by the CJCC-AODA workgroup. The workgroup had a scheduled meeting at the Service Center and stopped at Grace Place to thank them for their support in helping offenders with housing issues. RESULT: DISCUSSED 6. St. Croix Valley Restorative Justice Program Discussed the open house the St. Croix Valley Restorative Justice Program is sponsoring at the Government Center on Friday, February 13, 2015. The purpose of the open house is to introduce people to the programs offered by SCVRJP. RESULT: DISCUSSED 7. COMPAS Training - Mike O'Keefe CJCC Coordinator Mike O'Keefe reported that he has been accepted into the advanced COMPAS training sponsored by the Department of Corrections in January 2015. RESULT: DISCUSSED 8. Workgroups Update CJCC Coordinator Mike O'Keefe reported on the current status of CJCC work groups. RESULT: DISCUSSED 9. Drug Court Advisory Committee Review Discussion was held on moving the current Drug Court and Juvenile Treatment Court under the umbrella of CJCC. The matter was referred back to the CJCC By-Laws Committee for review and will be placed on the agenda for the CJCC January 2015 Meeting. RESULT: DISCUSSED 10. TAD Summit Meeting CJCC Coordinator Mike O'Keefe reminded the Council that the WI Department of Justice is sponsoring a Treatment & Alternatives Summit to discuss issues related to the State and County Criminal Justice initiatives. There is a meeting scheduled on January 27, 2015 in Eau Claire, WI. All CJCC members are invited to attend. Please let Mike O'Keefe know if you are interested. Steve T'Kach stated that he would be interested. RESULT: DISCUSSED 11. Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) Group Update Lisa Multhauf and Amber Perry gave an update on the Moral Reconation Group they are co-facilitating. RESULT: DISCUSSED 12. Department of Corrections Mark Lemke, Department of Corrections Probation & Parole Supervisor for St. Croix County gave an update on trends in Corrections within the State of WI. He referred to the dashboard charts and information the Department currently posts on their website. RESULT: DISCUSSED 13. Juvenile Assessment & Intervention System (JAIS) This item was not discussed because it was not posted within prescribed open meeting time limits. It will be placed on the agenda for the January 2015 meeting. RESULT: DISCUSSED 14. Future Agenda Items Any agenda items should be forwarded to Judge Lundell for the January 22, 2015 meeting. RESULT: DISCUSSED ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE ADJOURN DATE OF NEXT MEETING The next CJCC Meeting is scheduled for January 22, 2015, 8:00 AM, Room D203, Government Center.
