ST. CROW NTY. RESOLUTION APPROVING ADDITIONAL STEP INCREASES FOR
sc:af7srrz REGISTER OF DEEDS SECOND DEPUTY
1 WHEREAS, in January 2016 the St. Croix County Board of Supervisors implemented
2 the McGrath Uniform Compensation Grid for all non -represented employees; and

4 WHEREAS, maintenance on the wage grid is needed periodically to maintain equity and
5 correct issues; and
6
7 WHEREAS, with the 2024 realignment of the wage grid, employees were reallocated to
8 adjusted grade placements at a step that did not result in a decrease in pay; and
9
10 WHEREAS, the compensation rules granted to the Human Resources Department and
11 County Administrator do not allow for additional step increases, only placement on the wage
12 grid through an open recruitment hiring; and
13
14 WHEREAS, the unique set of circumstances has placed Register of Deeds Second
15 Deputy, Employee #335096, at Step One despite 11 years of service and consistently meeting
16 performance expectations, which will result in severe compression once the other Second Deputy
17 position is filled.

19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the St. Croix County Board of
20 Supervisors does hereby approve an additional two step increase for Employee #335096 in the
21 Register of Deeds Office from Step 1 to Step 3, to be effective at the start of the next payroll
22 period.
