APPROVAL OF MINUTES PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. St. Croix County Adult Drug Court Update Judge Waterman discussed Adult Drug Court graduations and terminations. Fred Johnson discussed methamphetamine as the primary drug of choice for people with addiction issues. Kristen DePrey stated that there are possible grant opportunities, but we won't be applying for Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) grants. Mark Lemke discussed current Department of Corrections (DOC) initiatives related to MAT programs. Michael Nieskes discussed the abuse of alcohol as a primary issue in this County. Kristen DePrey agreed that alcohol abuse is a primary referral source and has stayed consistent over time. Liesl Nelson discussed mixing OWI offenders with drug offenders in a program like the Adult Drug Court (ADC). Judge Waterman discussed the phase structure that has been implemented in the ADC and they will be working on data collection in the State of WI, Department of Justice, CORE System. Past data can be imputed into this system when we receive permissions. Judge Waterman discussed meeting dates and the frequency of meetings in the future. Fred Johnson stated that quarterly meetings seem to be adequate and we can continue to meet after the CJCC meetings. Judge Waterman agreed and stated the next meeting will be August 10, 2017 after the CJCC meeting. RESULT: DISCUSSED REQUEST FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS Agenda items for the meeting in August should be forwarded to Kimberly Kitzberger. ANNOUNCEMENTS & CORRESPONDENCE Mark Lemke discussed staff transitions at the P&P Office in Hudson. Michael Nieskes announced that Alexis McKinley, Assistant District Attorney, will be taking over as the representative for Drug Court. Kimberly Kitzberger announced upcoming the State of WI Drug Court Coordinator's Conference in May 2017 as well as the National Drug Court Conference in Washington DC. We are going to request that the TAD Grant support 2 people attending the National Conference. This will have to be done through a modification request from the TAD Grant. Kimberly will follow on this.
