CALL TO ORDER Chairman, Rich Peterson, called the
meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.
ROLL CALL Members present were: Dr. Glenn Hoberg,
Irene Burch, Marguerite Sumner, Carolyn Weisenburger, Ralph
Bader, Richard (Buzz) Marzolf, Alice Mullan, Gerald Peterson,
Bette Norman, Loretta Cassellius, Rich Peterson, and Mary Lou
Smith. Also present were: Sandy Gehrmann, Tracy Davis, Renea
Aeschliman, Sue Kramer, Sylvia Heller, Janice Thompson,
Gladys Ellefson, Donna Lamson, Diana Fern, Cindy Ahrens,
Shirley Marlette, Karen Wells, Jeannette O'Connell, and
Lorraine Jacobs.
ADOPTION OF AGENDA A motion was made by Marguerite
Sumner and seconded by Irene Burch to adopt the agenda as
printed; motion carried.
DATE OF NEXT MEETING The next meeting will be held on
Thursday January 16, 2003.
ACTION OF PREVIOUS MINUTES A motion was made by
Ralph Bader and seconded by Dr. Glenn Hoberg to approve the
minutes as printed; motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS:
Ed Forliti, Developer: Addressed Council regarding his
proprosed developments that could include Senior Centers.
Senior Center Coalition Meeting: Called to order at 10:15
a.m. and was adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
Elder Abuse 2001 Report: Viewed a video on elder abuse
and Sandy went over statistics as well as handing out a
pamphlet on 2001 Elder Abuse.
Three residents and one employee from Deerfield came to the
meeting. Since they had not requested time on the agenda their
issues regarding transportation policy will be addressed at a
later date.
STAFF REPORTS
Sandy's Report: Copies of Buzz's letter to the editor regarding
the Metro Meals on Wheels fundraiser was handed out. The
Council was again encouraged to call Metro Meals on Wheels to
voice their opinions.
Sandy went over the policy regarding group home residents
coming to dining sites. Residents are welcome, but they have to
be supervised by an employee of the group home.

Hudson Hospital has increased the price of meals from $4.25 -
$5.00. Council was asked whether to continue with the Hudson
Hospital or look at using volunteers to deliver from the Hudson
Senior Center at a cost of $3.75 a meal. A motion was made by
Gerald Peterson and seconded by Carolyn Weisenburger to go
with Christian Community Home preparing meals starting the
first of the year.
IRS cut mileage reimbursement effective Jan. 1, 2003. The
reimbursement rate went from 36.5 cents to 36 cents /mile.
Sandy mentioned that money for Congregate Nutrition is gone as
of November 2002. We will be using Home Delivered Meal
monies to get through the rest of the year except for congregate
donations that come in.
Caregiver Support programs' bulk mailing fundraiser has been
going well and the sites will be hand delivering Thank Yous to
the businesses that contributed from their area.
Secret Santa items were generously donated by county
employees. Quilts were donated by Cross Lutheran Church in
Roberts and sweaters were donated by Fortis employees. Bags
are to be delivered on Monday while delivering meals.
Tracy's Report: Reviewed transportation participant guidelines.
Cost is $2.03 /mile to operate vehicles, according to 2001 reports.

Sue's Report: SeniorCare has 73,439 people signed up in the
state of Wisconsin as of December 15 t h. 526 of those are from
St. Croix County. Still pushing for individuals to sign up for
SeniorCare.
Life Alert packets are being delivered to senior apartment
complexes in St. Croix County. Packets will be distributed to
sites. Life Alert packets are helpful to emergency responders
when they enter someone's home.
SITE /CENTER REPORTS
BALDWIN Christmas party went well, over 70 people
attended and it was a festive time.
DEER PARK No report
GLENWOOD CITY: Cards and bingo are going well. The
Christmas party had bingo and Santa Claus.
HAMMOND /ROBERTS Monthly birthday party went well.
Went to the Wilson Place Mansion. Have been doing a chair
exercise tape. Had their Christmas party and a fun time.
HUDSON Still having chair massage and bingo is a bit hit.
Friday is a variety of card games. Had their Christmas party
with Santa & Rudolph.
NEW RICHMOND Cards & activities are going well. Went to
see the lights in the New Richmond and Star Prairie area on
December 12 and then went to McDonald's for hot chocolate.
Approximately 40 people attended the Christmas Party.
RIVER FALLS: Christmas party was held on December 2nd at
the West Wind. A bus trip is scheduled for January 18 th .
SOMERSET Had their Christmas party on the 18 with Bob
Mastel for entertainment.
WOODVILLE Christmas dinner went well with a nice crowd
of people. There are new participants, but some of the
snowbirds have gone away for the winter.
