Executive Committee of the Community Justice Collaborating Council – Regular Meeting – January 28, 2021 12:00 PM Meeting Minutes of January 28, 2021 are accepted as presented. RESULT: ACCEPTED PUBLIC COMMENT BUSINESS ITEMS 1. CJCC and Treatment Alternatives & Diversion (TAD) Financial Review Mike O'Keefe, CJCC Coordinator, reported on the financial status of the CJCC and Treatment Alternatives and Diversion (TAD) Grant. RESULT: DISCUSSED 2. Justice Services Task Force Update Judge Needham states Judge Nordstrand is the Chair of the Justice Services Task Force. They have met and Ken Witt and Mike O'Keefe will develop a proposed organizational chart. Bob Feidler states he spoke with La Crosse County and they are willing to answer any of our questions about a model like this. Judge Needham states we would like to have a concept ready to present to the Committee of the Whole on March 19, 2021. RESULT: DISCUSSED 3. Treatment Alternatives & Diverson (TAD) Grant Workgroup Update - 2022-27 Judge Needham states there is more funding for Treatment Alternatives and Diversion (TAD) in the Governor's proposed budget for 2022. Judge Waterman, Chair of the TAD Workgroup states they met yesterday and the consensus was to continue with our current programming. He states the TAD Grant will probably be released sometime in August, 2021. RESULT: DISCUSSED 4. St. Croix County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Update Judge Needham states the Judges have had several meetings with Sue Schwartz, Executive Director, WI CASA, and one with National CASA representatives. Everyone came to the conclusion there is no template available to advance a regional model with Barron County. National CASA will support St. Croix County becoming a stand alone CASA program and we are moving forward with our own application.
